    Face Lift Gone Wrong

Jan.2004.. I had a face lift with overfill fat graft in my cheeks. One month after the fl, my ps performed a laser procedure on me.
One month after the laser small dented scars in a radiating pattern started appearing on both of my cheeks...Each week that went by.. These pitted scars would become deeper and multiply..It was like my face was melting...And it continues.
To this day, a little over a year later the scars continue to progress ..It is difficult to look in the mirror, I am not me.

My arrogant ps completely abandoned me as a patient after I came in to show him my face, when this started...I asked him what he had done to me..His response "it is a secret!!!!!!!!" I am not joking, oh how I wish I had a taperecorder on me at the time! He promptly left the room in a rage , sent his assistant in..To inform me, if I dont like the scars I should go out of the country to get silicone injections..Because the doctor does not do them.

I left in tears. That was the last contact I had with this god awful doctor.
My phone calls were screened and even though I was told they would be returned..They were not.

I planned on starting school this year and return to work, since my daughter, whom I raised myself was going away to college...This face lift was my gift to me ..The first thing I have ever done for myself since my daughter was born....

I have not left my house in over a year due to what this "man' did to my face. He ruined my life, shattered my dreams. I am so depressed, if it wasnt for my daughter, I would take my own life, my future is hopeless, I hate myself now....I am a freak.

    3. So sorry to read your story! You are not a freak, the 'doctor' who treated you so badly is the monster.

What you probably need more than 'Jesus' in your life is a good laywer! For goodness sake! This man has committed a crime against you and there are laws set up for your protection!! There are sadly, many people who have been through this. Try to get intouch with them for support and help. Look in the yellow pages, go to some kind of citizens advice organisation, talk to other plastic surgeons, and health workers. Do anything but don't let the bastard win!

Take care and look after your self! Sending positive energy!

What you need more than 'jesus' in your life is probably a good laywer! There are other people who have suffered at the hands of so called plastic surgeons. Get in touch with them. They will be able to offer advice and reasurance. Talk to citizens advice organizations, other, approved plastic surgeons and legal/medical professionals. There are laws that have been set up to protect you against people like your 'doctor'. Don't curl up and die! Don't let that bastard win!

    6. "Do be thankful that at least, you still have your sight, working legs and hands" - that might be very difficult, because your face is (in a way) a part of you soul, and if you are hurt in the face, your soul is hurt, too.

I hope you find strength and learn to love yourself! And I hope that you can make this horrible doctor responsible for what he did to you!

    9. you should carry on living your life for your daughters sake, let her realise that beauty isnt everything. imagine all the cancer victims who wish they could live longer, i bet they wouldnt care what they looked like. and then think of all the burn victims who have to go around with scars all over their bodies. there must be proof he did that surgery on you from their records or something, get justice then see if you can have some skin grafts or something and get out there again!

    10. you chose to do a risky and purely elective procedure. You are a dumb ass. I have no pity for you. Don't blame the doctor. He did what you asked him to do. It's not his fault that you didn't heed the warnings. Dipshit.

    11. you know what Miss , it takes more than courage to face things in life in contrary to merely passing judgments..... I don even know what to say , how to console you ..... but perhaps being another human being and trying to understand your emotions as much as i can .... let me say this .......it is always the spirit that matters ....maybe even the great GOD stops by , gets confused , praises silently and wonders this Spirit in us ....SO MISS never give UP the spirit till the LAST breath makes its way...then it for GOD to decide ...

Go Ahead Miss ,search every nook and corner in this surgery field , maybe even study this subject and a be a surgeon yourself , revolutionize the whole thing , whatever .....and NEVER SAY DIE .
May he be with you ....

    14. Who are these stupid bible thumpers? Are they so dumb as to think that some myth will make them feel better? I had one doctor tell me that I didn't need pain medication (I'm in high level pain due to a surgeon’s mistake) all I needed was Jesus!!! What drivel. The bible has done more damage in the world than any other book. Have the courage to stand up and take the world face on!! Even though your face is a mess, as a human being you have everything you need to carry on with your life. No mythological crutches needed!!!!

      1. I could not agree more. I had one nut tell me after I landed up with a problem on my one side....it is punishment for you being so vain, you must pray and ask for him to forgive you and you must forgive yourself!!!! If I was vain and loved myself, I would not have gone out to fix what I felt was ugly about myself. I despise these bible punchers!

    15. bear_guys48,

Thank you so much for sharing the truth. As I was reading through some of the comments all I could think was "WOW! How retarded are these nuts?" I know if I were this poor woman I would want to hear names of some good lawyers and surgeons, not wishes upon a falling star.

That being said, Girl, what he did to you is unforgivable. Please ruin him? And when you're done, use the money for skin grafts to fix it. I'm sure it can be fixed. Please keep us all informed of how it goes... and PLEASE tell us the name of this guy so we know who NOT to see.

Good luck, and keep your chin up.

    16. You poor darling, you should understand that you are not alone. Women really need to support each other and come out and NAME these surgeons. You know something? You are one of SOOO Many women who have suffered depression at the hands of a plastic surgeon. I think we should simply name them. For example, there is a Dr. Morris Ritz or "Mr" Morris RItz, he is a so called "top" plastic surgeon who works in Malvern in Melbourne AUstralia. He has all the right credentials but he has recently caused a young mother of five children to lose an entire breast and suffer permanent scarring and prolonged depression. He didn't follow up the procedure correctly when things started going wrong. She mortgaged a house because she thought that getting a surgeon with the best credentials would be safer. And you know something? Sometimes they are worse because of their arrogance. Like the man you are talking about, Dr. Morris Ritz from the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery doesn't care afterwards. It would be so much better if they admitted they'd stuffed up and DID SOMETHING TO HELP--- But this man, I know for a fact that he ACTUALLY ALTERS PATIENTS FILES - HE ALTERS THE FACTS. HE CHANGES WHAT IS IN THE FILE TO COVER HIMSELF ... How lovely and compassionate? We need to be very careful. I believe some plastic surgeons suffer from severe and undiagnosed personalitly disorders. They really believe that they are infallable and not to be challenged and convince themselves that it's the woman's "Fault" when they dare "complain".... It's all very well to say "Sue" the doctor but court is a very humiliating experience for the patient as the doctors insureres are savage. Also, there's no amount of money that can prevent the feeling of violation that occurs when these men don't take responsiblity. That doesn't mean you shouldn't sue him, but just make sure you get all the facts and understand how ruthless the court system can be.

    17. Dr. Morris Ritz from The Melbourne Institute Of Plastic Surgery severely disfigured Ms. Kerry Mullins, mother of five. He sold her a $25,000 mum's makeover and performed multiple procedures on her in an EIGHT HOUR OPERATION that should have been done one at a time. Kerry Mullins sued him and won in an out of court settlement. She was on sixty minutes Australia on 27th September 2010 in a segment called The Beauty Trap with Tara Brown. Dr. Morris Ritz had all the top training but offered Kerry Mullins very little, if any "care". He did not warn her of the risks, he did not protect her in the operation and he abandoned his duty of care by not caring for her afterwards- Kerry Mullins then underwent four months in hospital, with 22 operations where doctors who still believe in the "do no harm" vow, chopped away at her breasts, bit by bit by bit, disfiguring her further in order to save her life. Her children are severely traumatised and don't want her to undergo any more recontructive surgery - I can't imagine Kerry really wants to either!! It is a terrible TERRIBLE Breach of Trust for a doctor to abuse his patient for money or ego and Dr. Ritz showed very disturbing behaviour and it seems that he just "went back to ths same old work" right after. In fact, he engaged in serious self promotion on A Current Affair- flogging macrolane - the injectible breast filler- and his website- OH PLEASE SIR- Don't you like women at all?? Have you learnt nothing? Why don't you leave them and their breasts alone for a while and focus on something else? Like maybe getting a good therapist.

    20. I had 2 plastic surgeries that left me very depressed. They made me look worse. And the reason was simply i did not need them. I came in the surgeons office with bdd. I though i needed some things to be perfected but in reality i had bdd.My body was perfect. Anyways the surgeons took advantage and made me look worse and took the money. They were suppose to turn me down because it was a very clear case of bdd i mean i was practically perfect but instead they did the surgery anyway. Am now seeing phycologist and am depressed i also have absolutely no life now. And all my school and job searching has stopped at the moment case i cant even focus because of the depression. These surgeons are ripping people off, disfiguring them and have mental issues. They need to regulate ps more.

    21. Hi. I had a very terrible aesthetic outcome following a SMAS rhytidectomy. The incompetant surgeon performed a skin only technique which is a very outdated and technique. As a result my face is extremely distorted and gaunt. The outcome has left me disabled and turned a pre-existing intermitten eye condition (before surgery) into a permanent (di-plopia) disability. I know the pain you go through. I too was a single parent planning on returning back to school but now those dreams have vanished. Aesthetically my face looks extrmely distorted and odd. The looks of revulsion I recieve from people when out in public are very painfull to endure. I Know precisely what you are going through. God bless you.

    22. for all those that would say God is mythical. You couldn't be more wrong. I once believed the same as you. You need to read EVIDENCE DEMANDS A VERDICT. There is a God and prayer is exactly what this poor woman needs. You can't see the air we breathe, but without it we die. You can't see the stars during the day, but they are still there. Just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean that is isn't there. AND yes there is a Satan too and he is hoping that nobody will change your mind so that you will forever be his.

    23. just wear makeup or get a micropigmentation or microdermabrasion & go to a dermatologist!!!!

      ReplyDelete
    24. The facelift is called dermabrasion. This uses a variety of media to remove the outer layer of skin. It is used to remove scars and tattoos, but was also successful in removing wrinkles on the face. It is also possible to remove sun-damaged skin to reveal a new and younger skin underneath. It usually takes a while for skin regrowth and right now there are a lot of redness and dryness have been reported. Wearing a moisturizer and sun avoidance has proven hard to help reduce this discomfort.

    26. I had a Bi-Lateral breast reduction and an Abdominoplasty in July 2010. I had six days in hospital and the surgery was done by a very well qualified and highly recommended Plastic Surgeon. I was informed by the nurse doing my breast dressings the day of my discharge that both breasts had blistered very badly.
It is now 11 months since my surgery and I have what appears to be 3rd degree burn scars on both breasts and my stomach pain is still causing me great discomfort.
I have recently spoken to a Doctor in regards to my pain levels with both my stomach and breasts and upon showing the Doctor my breast scarring, her facial expression and horror said more to me than any words will ever say.
I do understand the depression you feel and i often don't feel that this body is my own. I have been left with scars and pain that i now know will never leave me, I suffer incredible fatigue since the surgery and my only option now is to have skin grafts. I do not want the grafts as they are incredibly painful and there is a very high risk of infection, wound breakdown and grafts that won't heal, so I am now considering having a mastectomy.
The biggest problem is trying to find others who are still suffering from major pain and discomfort 12 months after this type of surgeries.

      ReplyDelete
      Replies
      1. Lawyers aren't always able to be as helpful as they'd like to be. I was also a victim of Dr. Morris Ritz, one of the owners of The Melbourne Insitute of Plastic Surgery. The problem is that there are fixed time limits in these things and there isn't much you can do if those time limits are over. You also need a lot of evidence - other than what you look like or more importantly, feel like!
