It took me 4 years to get up the nerves to start the process. My insurance took a month to approve it and gave me a window of 3 months to have it done. My entire experience was wonderful! I totally believe that you have to research your Doctor. Mine came highly recommended and I asked a lot of questions and he always answered all my questions satisfactory. Never rushed my appointments before and after the procedure. My results were near perfection. Didn't experienced the pain I thought I would, was in at 7:00am and back home at 4:30 pm the same day. Minor draining and scaring. My breasts were a 44 DD, lost 8 lbs of tissue. I am only 5'2" 152 lbs before surgery. Both my breasts are even and my nipples are lined up even as well and I have sensation in both. I did have numbness on my left side at first but that is disappearing . Even my gynacologist commented that my plastic surgeon did a great job. I am a totally different person now was always walking slumped over trying to not bring attention to my breasts , receiving comments from complete strangers in passing. I can now wear cute tops and sun dresses .. I haven't had any problems since. As one reader mentioned her PS had all the credentials and still botched her surgery, I guess that I was fortunate and perhaps lucky. I wish all of the ladies could have had a positive experience and outcome. All we really wanted was a better quality of life devoid of painAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8368621568967891146.post-8254751502673485092013-04-12T17:04:37.255-07:002013-04-12T17:04:37.255-07:00I'm 15 and doctors and my mom say that a reduc...I'm 15 and doctors and my mom say that a reduction would help my major back pain. My marriage and all has been damaged from it. The plastic surgeon was so not nice after my surgurey. He never stayed in the room long enogh to answer any of my questions let alone take care of any my concerneds. He did a nipple graffting on me and I don't even have nipples. I know that I was very large breasted but he really messed me up and I'm now walking around with no nipples and very messed up breast. I'm very upset every time I have to look at my breat or body. I have to now see another doctor and this may coast me out of pocket. I don't even feel like a woman. I'm just so upset and so down at the fact that I look like trash. I will never refeer this doctor to any one. He was refeered to me by my cousion and he did a good job on her and messed me up. I missed like four months from work due to all the pain and swellen. I hate my breasts. The plastic surgeon had to do a nipple graph and promised they would protrude once healed the only downside according to her was it could either heighten or loose sensitivity in the nipples. I felt that as long as they appeared "normal" I would deal with it. Well, needless to say that one nipple appears almost normal, it does not protrude, ever, and when it's cold the nipple turns white. The other one has loss of pigmentation (she suggested tattoo the color back in for an extra $200) and the nipple sinks inward. I don't know what to do. I feel so much less than a woman. It aleviated some of the back, shoulder blade and neck pain but not completely. I have lost feeling in left thumb, index and middle finger, they are always numb. What can I do???Taminoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8368621568967891146.post-49201355591150377832013-02-05T22:15:45.097-08:002013-02-05T22:15:45.097-08:00You gave very little info to get informed, helpful...You gave very little info to get informed, helpful opinions tailored to your specific needs. For example: you write you're 5'1" - but how much do you weigh? Are you overweight? Obese? Do you exercise? How much? Do you do back-strengthening exercises? How big are your breasts? Each person is indeed different, but PS should be the LAST resort and you should ONLY resort to it if the pain is "excruciating" (as you write) AND chronic. There are non-surgical alternatives you should explore.

My better half is 5'6", weighs 175 lbs, and wears a 36N bra. She exercises 3x week (weights, treadmill, stationary bike) and zumbas 2x week. She wears an Enell sports bra when exercising (sometimes with another bra). Her trapezius muscle is very well developed and strong. Her bras are the right size (get a professional to measure and fit you properly, and google your bra size for manufacturers of bras that will fit you). She wears Cush-Eez® bra strap cushions ("Shock absorbers for your shoulders") with silicon pads. The worst part was that the skin & incisions from my nipples to just below my breasts split wide open and didn't close until mid-August! I had the reduction done and if I could go back in time I would and NEVER NEVER have it done. They are 2 different sizes. The nipples are both too high. I had surgery be three yrs this Jan.19,2012. the surgery was a huge disaster 24 hrs after surgery my breast swelled up and had black blisters on both breast a high fever. Doctor would not see me til 4 days out after surgery. Went to PS and was told it was part of healing with the black blisters and fever. Then I was given a appointment to follow up two wks later. Well needless to say i went back in the two wks. but I was told everthing looked good. It was not good bt now i have open wounds on both breast and a reched smell and lots of drainage. The surgeon didnt care he told the nurse to give me a antibiotic patch and return in two weeks. Needless to say I was rushed to another Plastic Surgeon and under went emergency surgery. The new sergion had to have me lay wide awake with no pain medication for three hours while he worked to save my life. I had a staph infection my white blood count was 2500 a normal count is 800. I had infection and rotting tissue lost a nipple. I went through constant pain for seven month and four surgeries later .Im out $ 30.000 and the pain is never going away because of nerve damage and scare tissue. I can only lift my arms half way because the first surgeon cut off to much skin under my arms and from my breast. I went from a DD to one breast is an A theo other a B. Thank god my daughter took me to her PS to make it as normal as possiable. I do have a court case going on with the first Plastic Surgeon. But even if I win im scared for life. My heart goes out to anyone who has a bad out come from surgery. These doctors have to be held accountable for their actions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8368621568967891146.post-74779109222745965692011-07-25T23:46:09.610-07:002011-07-25T23:46:09.610-07:00i had a breast reduction surgery 2 months ago and ...i had a breast reduction surgery 2 months ago and now it looks like someone took a bite out of the right side right beside my nipple and its been infected for 2 months and they havent sone anything about it beside cut the dead skin out so now it lookslike theres two holes inside its so gross i am so depressed because ofthis i have had to pay an arm and a leg for neosporin and bandaids to keep it covered up and not to mention the infection on both side underneath where the incision meets im so frustrated and pissed i actuall am trying to find a counseler to talk to because this has brought me down so bad dont have it done until someone explains all not some alllllllll of the risk thayt come along with itAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8368621568967891146.post-39338851991872050732011-07-18T10:54:59.477-07:002011-07-18T10:54:59.477-07:00I have a second augmentation surgery 20 years afte...I have a second augmentation surgery 20 years after the first one that was perfect until I gave birth and tried to nurse my son. Not long into that both of my breast deflated completely. The dr. wanted to try a new procedure putting the implants under the muscle on each side. For my post op visit he reassured me that in time my breast would not be so high and look lumpy. So for several weeks I pushed down on each breast as he told me to do. That did not work---I was still looking freakly. Additionally one was higher than the other and the nipple is in the wrong place! I called the dr. to make another appt and was told that he left the country and went back to England.
I have no recourse but to start over but at age 65 is that risky!!
