More Breast Reduction gone wrong cases

Case4:I had a breast reduction. A year and a half ago. They didnt really warn me about the whole nipple process...Well they cut them down, and they completely screwed up my nipples also. One is bigger than the other, the shape is out uneven, and they just look horrible. Im looking ot get mine fixed soon, its just been hard for me to want to undergo another plastic surgery when everythin with my breast reduction went wrong.

Case5:I had a reduction done due to health reasons and it turned out to be awful. I to want to get the problem fixed but am scared now! I have two different size breast now and the nipple thing well I have lost part of one of mine do to an infection I recv. It took me on the third call to get them to see me back at the doctors office telling them that I didnt like I was seeing. I have nipples that point in different directions and I am a hell of alot smaller then what I had asked for. I went from a "ddd" to a "a" on one side and a "b" on the other side.....Talk about depression well that has happened to me ...Someone needs to get these doctors!!!

Case6:I had a breast reduction done may 2006. I thought it was going to be the most wonderful thing I had ever done for myself. Boy was I wrong !!!! The surgery it self was bad enough, then to have bad results? My nipples ( though I still have sensation in then) sit extremely high. I ask my Dr. About my nipple placement, and his answer was that I had "bottomed out". I don't know exactly what that means, but a week later he performed additional surgery in his office under local anesthetic and removed a strip of skin( no tissue) to pull the nipples down. Not only would I not get completely numb, but I left his office with almost 90 stitches. The nipples are still all screwed up, and I am very flat. I wanted to be pain free and I am, now it is a mental pain. I look like a freak !!! I am looking into having more surgery (by a different Dr.) to correct this. I hope all goes better this time.

Case7:I recently had a breast reduction and I have the same things going on.
I was not aware at all that my nipples would be removed. When the procedure was done, the doctor told me that the blood flow was not good to my right nipple. He told me that he was unable to reattach the nipple, and that I only had the one on my left still on! I was furious, and the only thing he said was that he could take it off or leave it there. There was no way to reattach it.
He also told me that there's around a 75% failure rate of these procedures. It's not very safe at all and usually women are not only dissatisfied with the results, they usually bear a large amount of pain afterwards.
I am not happy and I'm currently trying to bring this to court. There is no reason for this. If only they would have told me this stuff beforehand, I would never have had it in the first place. None of this was worth getting my breasts smaller.

Ladies!! Collect as much information as you can, study the different cases where this procedure has changed the lives of women in negative way, don't mess up your breast, I guess you know how precious they are else you wouldn't be doing a surgery on them. May God bless all who Implant or Reduce their breast.

    1. very interesting thankyou. I have been contemplating getting breast implants, but think I may need to think about harder before i do. thank you for the infomrmation its good to hear real life people's view points, although I'm sorry anyone has gone through what these women have had (have) to endure.

    2. It is very sad what has happened to the women in these cases... It is unfortunate! anyone who is considering surgery of the breasts, i urge you to do your homework! The first and most important piece of advice i can give you is - make sure you find a good, trustworthy and certified surgeon who has had lots of (good) experience(s)! Research on the interenet, ask for recommendations from family, friends and/or other people you know that have had the surgery or another sort of surgery with a particular doctor. Seeing and hearing good reults and GREAT reputation about a doctor should leave you feeling confident. When having a consultation, make sure you are comfortable with your surgeon. Build good rapport with him/her will ease your nerves and you will know when you are in good hands. good luck ladies and all the best!

    3. So you people are saying I just should just put up with the excruciating pain of having extremely large breasts hurting my back, neck, and shoulders on my small 5"1 frame?

      1. No, my girlfriend had a reduction and it was the best thing ever. Just do your research, make sure they are qualified surgeons. I am going to see Dr Nasir in KL - he has a great reputation as a Plastic surgeon not a cosmetic surgeon do not ever go to a cosmetic surgeon

      2. No, I had a reduction 10 years ago and I'm very happy with the results. Just make sure you know all the facts before hand. It is really hard for me to believe these women didn't know their nipples would be removed. That is standard in all reductions. I'm very sorry that they had bad outcomes but don't base your needs on what happend to them. Do your research.

      3. After all this time (just over 4 years) you've probably dealt with your situation, but really, you gave very little info to get informed, helpful opinions tailored to your specific needs. For example: you write you're 5'1" -OK, but how much do you weigh? Are you overweight? Obese? Do you exercise? How much? Do you do back-strengthening exercises? How big are your boobs? Each person is indeed different, but PS should be the very LAST resort and you should ONLY resort to it if the pain is "excruciating" (as you write) AND chronic. Despite the abundance of blithe comments ("It was the best thing ever!") there are non-surgical alternatives you should explore.

My better half . . . is 5'6", weighs 175 lbs, and wears a 36N bra. She exercises 3x week (weights, treadmill, stationary bike) and zumbas 2x week. She wears an Enell sports bra when exercising (sometimes with another bra). Her trapezius muscle is very well developed and strong. Her bras are the right size (get a professional to measure and fit you properly, and google your bra size for manufacturers of bras that will fit you). She wears Cush-Eez® bra strap cushions ("Shock absorbers for your shoulders") with silicon pads. For occasional pain she sees a physio-therapist and acupuncturist, and uses Absorbine® Jr. Virtually all of her health-care professionals take a look at her and say variations of "Doesn't your back hurt from the size of your breasts? You can get them reduced, you know." It gets tedious, but you know what answer you'll get if you ask a barber if you need a haircut. Same with a plastic surgeon or allied health professional.

And what the hell is KL? Kuala Lumpour, Malaysia!? That's fine if you live there, but I would consult with some well-reputationed local pros first!

    4. In December of 2005 I had a breast reduction. Surgery was on a Tues and my drains were removed on Thurs. By the following Monday I was running a fever of 102. My husband called the facility & they advised him to "keep an eye on me" for the next couple of days and made me a follow up appt for Wed. Well, Tues(1 wk later) my husband had to rush me back in to the office because I was in extreme pain, redness & my skin was hot to the touch. When I was taken back & sat on the exam chair the dr began to examine my right breast. By this time I am clinching the arm of the chair because the pain is soooo bad. As the dr began to remove the tape around my nipple he began to feel pushing on the breast,it busted & fluid began to drain out of my breast. He proceeded to "milk" my breast trying to release any fluid that was built up in my breast. Then he proceeded to "pop" the left breast. Mind I had just had surgery 1 week prior to this incident. Most of the stitches inside my brest had busted & within a few weeks the stitches began to push out of my pores. My right breast at the crease where the incision was made had opened to about 3 inches wide. You were able to lift my breast & see inside. I asked the dr why this had happen & he admitted to removing the drains too soon and fluid had no way of being released but instead began to build up around my lungs making it difficult to breathe & resulted in an infection. I tried to continue care with the attending physician but a few weeks later he left the office & I was left pretty much without a doctor. The facility tried to say he left suddenly but now they are out of business. I can not find my medical records because I don't know where to start. Other physicians will not touch me because I am a "RISK". The facility tried to bring in other doctors to examine & continue treating me 1 dr wouldn't even touch me He just kept telling me to apply Neosporin to the wounds. I had a hole in my breast!!!!The 2nd dr said he knew"ow to fix me". Then I learned he was being sued for forgetting to put a belly bi=utton on a women who had a tummy tuck. Now I find it a little confusing on how these dr's can live with themselves knowing they have NOT done their job correctly. When the attending physician sent a specimen of the fluid in to the lab to find out what kind of infection I had he never gave me the results. When the 2 nd dr came in I asked him what did he see in the results. He explained to me the infection I had was very rare for the breast. The bacteria I had was commonly known to be carried in the abdomen. Now my question is this how well & how often do the assistants autoclave to sterilize their instruments...if at all????

    5. I had breast reduction a year and a half ago. I was really happy with it until about 2 months ago. My scars have not lightened at all...they are still very red. They itch and are very sore. Also, although my weight has not changed (it went down a couple of pounds) my breasts seem to be getting bigger...a real disappointment! Oh yes...and they are starting to sag to my stomach again.

    6. I had reduction surgery on December 4, 2008.. Everything has gone wrong, necrosis in right nipple and areola, put in hospital January 7th 2009 due to infection and then he had to take out the entire areola and nipple and now I have a deep cavity wound that will not heal. Do not know what to do, not healing and I have a hole in my breast that is about the size of a 50 cent piece that is almos 2 inches deep.

    7. I had breast reduction on February 16, 2009 due to pain large breasts that cause neck and back discomfort after losing >54 pounds 3 years ago. After 2 weeks post op, I noticed enlarge, reddened, hot left breast. I contacted the PS's office and was told to place a cold pack on my breast and to keep appointment. 4 weeks later, PS told me that he would have to remove my left nipple and areola and clean the wound, debridgement. I had the debridement done and still the wound is not healing. I have prulent drainage noted, a cavity in the middle of my left breast area. I had to insist upon a Culture and sensitivity of the drainage from my left breast. I go each week to the PS and just keep telling me to keep a dry dressing on the wound and use perioxide. I contacted a Wound Care specialist on my own, and feel that I have a better chance of healing. I know that it will take some time for me to heal. I am on antibiotics and have been diagnosed with MRSA. Mentally and physically I am drained. My Spouse has been exceptional and supports me well. I am considering starting a group for women like myself. I don't recommend breast reduction surgery to anyone. My PS has all the creditials available to a PS, I wish I had waited. I don't know how I am going to overcome this situation.

    8. "My right breast at the crease where the incision was made had opened to about 3 inches wide."

I had the same thing happen to me, I had surgery June 1st. The right one blistered and pulled away from the stiches, and I now have a 4 to 5 inch open wound that refuses to heal. I am having wound cultures done today, and seeing a new surgeon on Wednesday. The skin tearing was not the dr's fault(possibly) but letting this get this huge is. he should have given me antibiotics or put me in the hospital for a skin graft, God only knows what or how they will fix this infection now. I hope all of you recover from these disasterous surgeries. Angii

    9. I am small chested. Always have been, and probably always will be. Bra shopping has always been depressing and, to a certain degree, degrading for me. It wasn't always like that though: I wasn't always upset by being 'flat chested'. In contrast, I used to be excited finding bras in the young girl's section because they were never as expensive as women's. It wasn't until my High School boyfriend that I hated the size of my breasts.

I was young. I was foolish. I was overwhelmed that someone good looking could be interested in someone who was, for lack of better word, plain. Looking back I can say: "All that is golden...". He never passed a moment that he could make me feel worthless. He pointed out other girls with bigger breasts and compaired them to mine. He would even tease me about my younger sisters passing down their out-grown bras to me. He would emotionally and physically abuse me, the whole time pointing out ways he wished I was different.

Eventually our relationship ended, I graduated, attended college, and battled the mental image I had hammered into my head. I hated the size of my breasts. I didn't feel beautiful, I wasn't happy with myself, and I loathed my body for not being 'perfect'. Years have gone by, and today I have a beautiful baby girl and husband who love me for who I am. Even after breast feeding, I'm in the same children bras as before: I still get excited when I wear a brightly colored bra under my t-shirt, even if I'm the only one knowing it has stars and hearts all over the cups. I still have moments when I am frustrated with the size of my breasts, but I can try on dresses with out crying because I can't fill out the top. I can stand infront of the bathroom mirror after stepping out of the shower without insults running through my head now. It's been a battle, but I have my family for support.

I can see how having larger breasts isn't much fun, but having small ones isn't either. Thank you for sharing all of your stories. It helps me realize that the grass isn't greener on the other side. I am small chested. Always have been, and probably always will be.

I had surgery on March 7,2009.I am still dealing with holes and raw skin it was so bad my brest tissue and muscles was hanging out.It got infected and is still not healed.I had something like a seizure over the pain was put in the hospital, then a wound care specialist started helping thank goodness,my Dr.said there was nothing else he could do and me laying there with 6inch open wounds. So i am trying to deal with this also my family has to deal with this.It is nothing nice,i am limited to what i can do.I have to pay alot for the dressings and things and im mentally wore out. They just wont heal.My regular m.d. is saying a skin graft why didnt my ps say this.Dont do this if at all avoidable. It has ruined my life.

    11. i had a tummy tuck 15 months ago and it was fantastic, the surgeon was great. He done my breast reduction and lift nearly 5 weeks ago and took me from an f cup to a d cup but to my horror the areola on both breasts were inverted, i wasnt aware of that risk, my left one has come out alot but not completely, my right areola is still in, my surgeon will fix it when the scars have healed more, he says its an easy procedure, i feel awful when i look at myself,i know its early days and should give it time but im not as happy as i thought i would be, im so sad for you other ladies that have had a worst time than me.

    12. today i am on my 4th day after the surgery, my breast shape and size are acceptable, but i was not informed on how bruised and beaten i would appear. my incisions go way up under my arms, and that is where i have the most pain and discomfort. i was not prepareat all for this. i think i am allowing my brain to get me a little panicked about my apperance. i am hopeful all will go well.i would have loved to have seem other one-day post op pictures. wish i could post mime somewhere so that other women could see exactly what is going on with my body. but i must also say that i did not talk with one woman who was dissatisfied with their outcome.

    13. I had a breast reduction in oct 2009 and still have not healed from it. the dr took the bandage off the next day. and a few days later it opened backup.he said it was my fault.he redid it in nov i had a vacum on then had a nurse came out here to change it she did it wrong, and when he did the pain was terbble. he put the vacum back on after the surgey wwhen he took it off. I kept telling him left breast did not feel right and there was a dent in it. he said it was nothing my next appontment it was red hot to the touch so he cut it open to find infection he packed it and me and my husband packed. it still did not get any beter all that was there was open skin asn tiusse. he said every thing was fine and sent me back to work. the pain was so bad i went to my regular dr. she took me back out of work said i should not have been work like that she did test and sent me to a wound care dr. he did test and it said MRSA if the dr would have done the test when my husband had ask which was every week it would not have gone on this long.so now i gohave a iv in my arm and get medince twice a day now.what was suppose to take 3 to 4 weeks has now been seven months my breast are square and nipples and different sizes and in different spots. this has been the worst 7 months of my life i would like to get it back. but i no i wont if it was not for my husband all the months changeing bandage and everything else i dont no what i would have done.i thought my breast would lookgood and the pain in back and arms would go away it didnt and now i have more pain. i agree with the woman about a group for woman like me and her i wish there was one it would be great. and when some ask me should they have this done i tell them no.im suppose to have it redone but now im to scared after what i have been through.

    14. I think that its sad that when things go wrong you can't get them fixed, it has alot to do with your health system. If in Australia you had an infection you just go to the hospital, you don't need to worry about seeing your own surgeon. I had BR, one nipple numb, but overall, given what I had before I'm happy, clothes fit and I look younger, but we shouldn't be fed a lie about looking wonderful etc. The old anchor scar way is not necessary, if you have that, your surgeon is not up on the latest info.

    17. i had breast reduction last week ( dec 2010) and i love the look of my new smaller breasts. i have been raving about them for 10 days now. BUT- now that some of my steri-strips are starting to come off from the underside of my breast- i am not at all liking what I am seeing of the incision. The skin appears buckled, and it honestly looks like i sewed it shut myself. I am starting to freak out!
I am out of the state for the next 16 days , so I can see my PS but I will be calling first thing on Monday morning.
The other thing is that the ends of my incison ( closer to my arm pits) are very sensitive and there is a bump under the skin that is painful. When I saw him 7 days later- I had one bump and he said that was normal and fine and to kind of massage it. I now have a big painful bump on the otherside as well.

    18. I had a breast reduction in Dec. 2002, almost 8 years ago. I had so many problems healing from this from Nurse taking stitches out to soon, to massive infections in my right breast. Here we are 8 years later and I am fixing to go in for surgery again to remove a cyst that I have had since healing in early 2003 because my PS thought that the cyst was "NO BIG DEAL" and yes its a very very bad deal. It has caused infection each and every time I get stressed out and swells to cover the entire lower half of my right breast. I'm going to have to a right breast reconstruction because my Plastic Surgeon was an idiot and only cared about the money and not his best care for his patients.
I have dealt with the depression you all talk about, I have a perfect left breast and I have a right "Box" breast due to the infections that he caused by his poor after surgery care.

    19. I am 37 years old with 3 children and 38 gg breasts, standing 5ft 8 " tall. I have wanted a breast reduction since being 18. I have two crushed vertibre at the base of my spine, extremely painful neck and shoulders and indentations from my bra straps. I cannot do any strenuous exercise as there are no bras which support me enough as it becomes extremely painful. One breast is slightly larger than the other also.
I am due to receive a compensation payment of £5000 and in my head ive spent it alreay on a reduction, I just need to find the right surgeon. After nearly 18 years of tears, Im about to get re born!!!!

    20. @37 year old with 38 gg size,
Make certain that you look at at least 3 to 4 plastic surgeons and have them show you their photo book with past surgeries that they have done.
Also, Word of mouth spreads about Plastic Surgeons, check around and ask about these doctors. You will hear things that they will not have in their testimonies and photo books.

I hope that all goes well with you, It is a life changing surgery, but things do go wrong with it sometimes. Make sure that you follow their instructions during the healing process to the letter.
Also as your healing from it, it is a good idea to drink lemon tea (Hot water with squeezed lemon) This helps you lose fluid build up. This helped me so much during my healing process.

    21. I had breast reduction on Nov.4,2010. I was so excited because I was in constant pain with my back. I had tried for over 10 years to the reduction before my insurance carrier finally agreed to pay for it. Well I was so happy, finally I was going to get relieve and hopefully look better. The doctor removed about 6 pounds of breast tissue. I didnt want to be this small. About 2 weeks later my nipples and areola both turned black. He had me coming back week after week and he just kept saying it will be ok that dead skin will fall off. It didnt not fall off he cut it off in his office. I had to have another surgery, a bilateral nipple construction. Well I didnt like the way they looked but tried to accept it. Then my nipples turned black again, dead. Had to be cut off. Now I have no nipples and I dont know what he plans to do if anything. No other surgeon wants to fix my nipples. When I show my mother, sisters, and husband they all say that I have been destroyed. This is an awful feeling. I dont even want to out of the house. How could my dream turn into such a nightmare? I was shown photos and they all looked good. I noticed he never wanted to take any more photos of me to show new clients. I think he should so he show them the risks. When they are pushing all the papers for you to sign, you really dont read them throughly. I dont know where I will go from here. I hope he can at least fix my nipples.

    22. I am 21 years old and have been an american J cup since I was 18.
I have recently lost about 30 pounds and remain a 36J. I can't even buy bras in a department store and my breasts sag like a 40 year old womans. I can't wear the clothes other girls my age do, guys my age don't look at me, but guys my dads age can't seem to stop.
It seems like ever since I hit puberty I've struggled with not being able to dress or look my age, and slowly but surely losing the ability to physically keep up with other people my age athletically. Sports bras don't offer me support. In weight training in highschool I had to wear 3 bras just to be able to jog.
I have wanted a breast reduction ever sicne hitting DDD in 7th grade, and my dad wouldn't let me wear my best friends tank top to school. I look back now and can only imagine what an over-sexed little tyke I must have looked like, but back then I just wanted to chop my tits off because I would never be able to look like the other kids.
Now I'm still oversized, and overweight to boot, and all I want is to be a bit smaller, and a bit perkier. All this has been really discouraging, and now I'm not sure what to do. I don't care if my boobs sag 20 years from now after I've had children, boobs are supposed to sag when you are in your 40's. But can't I be young for once in my life?

    23. I recently had breast reduction surgery. Know when I touch my left breast, it's cold to the touch. I have a hard spot that the dr has asked me to massage, it is doing nothing for it or should I say very little. the spot has gotten smaller but it's still hard and know I feel sharp pain every know and then in that breast. After reading all of the post, I am going to contact my doctor tomorrow and demand he see me this week. For some reason, they have put it off for 2 weeks after I told them I am not waiting a month to see what happens. I like the look of them but if they are infected, I need to be treated immediately.

    24. I also wanted to add, not only is it cold to the touch but has anyone else experienced this? I read the post where you had a warm or hot to the touch.

    25. I had a Breast Reduction in 1989, I too lived with constant back pain, bra indentions and feeling a lot of low self esteem...Finally Insurance agreed to pay and I had the reduction, i to had many problems after the surgery, stiches would not hold, I had two additional stichings in my left breast, it took over a year to heal and I am scarred beyond belief...I actually had a physical yesterday and the gynocologist actually asked me who was the butcher who did my breast reduction, how embarrising is that? I want so bad just to fix the scarring...but I have no idea where to begin, does anyone have any suggestions? excuse my spelling, it was never one of my strong points.

    27. I have a second augmentation surgery 20 years after the first one that was perfect until I gave birth and tried to nurse my son. Not long into that both of my breast deflated completely. The dr. wanted to try a new procedure putting the implants under the muscle on each side. For my post op visit he reassured me that in time my breast would not be so high and look lumpy. So for several weeks I pushed down on each breast as he told me to do. That did not work---I was still looking freakly. Additionally one was higher than the other and the nipple is in the wrong place! I called the dr. to make another appt and was told that he left the country and went back to England.
I have no recourse but to start over but at age 65 is that risky!! And I'm sure the cost are much higher. NEVER agree to doing a NEW Procedure until you do your research very thoroughly.

    29. Im a patient of a disaster from a breast reduction. I had surgery be three yrs this Jan.19,2012. the surgery was a huge disaster 24 hrs after surgery my breast swelled up and had black blisters on both breast a high fever. Doctor would not see me til 4 days out after surgery. Went to PS and was told it was part of healing with the black blisters and fever. Then I was given a appointment to follow up two wks later. Well needless to say i went back in the two wks. but I was told everthing looked good. It was not good bt now i have open wounds on both breast and a reched smell and lots of drainage. The surgeon didnt care he told the nurse to give me a antibiotic patch and return in two weeks. Needless to say I was rushed to another Plastic Surgeon and under went emergency surgery. The new sergion had to have me lay wide awake with no pain medication for three hours while he worked to save my life. I had a staph infection my white blood count was 2500 a normal count is 800. I had infection and rotting tissue lost a nipple. I went through constant pain for seven month and four surgeries later .Im out $ 30.000 and the pain is never going away because of nerve damage and scare tissue. I can only lift my arms half way because the first surgeon cut off to much skin under my arms and from my breast. I went from a DD to one breast is an A theo other a B. Thank god my daughter took me to her PS to make it as normal as possiable. I do have a court case going on with the first Plastic Surgeon. But even if I win im scared for life. My heart goes out to anyone who has a bad out come from surgery. These doctors have to be held accountable for their actions.

    31. patricia, March 19,2012 I am 51 in July and my breasts completely keep growing , i was gaining weight but my chest is so big it hurts me to even walk, i am considering both sides of the information and have decided to go ahead with the breast reduction because i am sick of looking like a freak, i am embarrassed to go out without a jacket to cover myself and now that spring is here i am so self conscience about how i look. the looks i get even make me feel like i am being violated, i am starting to isolate myself indoors and to the back yard. This is such a serious issue, the pain alone is worth it, i cant even walk a whole mile without so much pain i feel like a cripple, I have an appt on the 20th of april to talk to a surgeon. I am really hoping they can help me this is debilitating to anyone with size 42DDD and i am only 4' 11" but i am overweight, and trying like crazy to lose weight, right now i weigh 220 but i am walking on a treadmill, and i am using yoga for some serenity, i cant wait to see the dr,. i will update as i go.

      1. Patricia, I do hope all goes well with the Dr. and you are able to have a reduction soon. Although I had problems with my reduction, (am now going through a reconstruction) I would do it again in a heart beat.
It is so freeing not to have those huge breasts any more, and I pray that you will feel the same...without the complications....Peg

    32. Patricia - You are the same size as me. I too felt so self-conscience. I saw a plastic surgeon in November of 2010. I had the reduction done and if I could go back in time I would and NEVER NEVER have it done. They are 2 different sizes. The nipples are both too high. The right one had so much fluid built up another PS had to use a syringe and drain it. Now its smaller than the left. The scarring is thick and horrible looking. The nipples are also different shapes. Like I said - I wish I could go back and NOT do it. If you do - I wish you ALL the best.

    33. I had breast reduction surgery Feb 1, 2012. I thought I was going to be smaller. Instead my breasts are the same size just higher up on my chest. The worst part was that the skin & incisions from my nipples to just below my breasts split wide open and didn't close until mid-August! I also developed a staff infection which was incredibly painful. My nipples are no longer round. They're almost square! Plus the scars are very wide (3"x5") They are unattractive to look at and bumpy/rough to feel. Dr. says he can "fix" all this but I say Never Again!!

      1. I had a similar experience where the skin splilt open, but my PS did a skin graft and it healed in a month or so. After 6 months he then took it back to a thin single line, and it now looks great. Didn't your PS suggest something like this for you???
Sorry to hear you are not happy. If you do not trust your PS do not let him touch you again.
I am sure if you do some research, you will find one who can help to make you look they way you want...
Mine has done some fabulous work on me after my reduction went pear shape. I had problems due to it being a second reduction (first 35years ago) and the blood supply coming from a different area, and not due to my PS bad work...

    34. I had a breast reduction 8/23/2011 and the results are horrible. I hate my breasts. The plastic surgeon had to do a nipple graph and promised they would protrude once healed the only downside according to her was it could either heighten or loose sensitivity in the nipples. I felt that as long as they appeared "normal" I would deal with it. Well, needless to say that one nipple appears almost normal, it does not protrude, ever, and when it's cold the nipple turns white. The other one has loss of pigmentation (she suggested tattoo the color back in for an extra $200) and the nipple sinks inward. I don't know what to do. I feel so much less than a woman. It aleviated some of the back, shoulder blade and neck pain but not completely. I have lost feeling in left thumb, index and middle finger, they are always numb. What can I do???

    35. I had a breast reduction on 06/22/2011 and the results from it is so horrible. My marriage and all has been damaged from it. The plastic surgeon was so not nice after my surgurey. He never stayed in the room long enogh to answer any of my questions let alone take care of any my concerneds. He did a nipple graffting on me and I don't even have nipples. I know that I was very large breasted but he really messed me up and I'm now walking around with no nipples and very messed up breast. I'm very upset every time I have to look at my breat or body. I have to now see another doctor and this may coast me out of pocket. I don't even feel like a woman. I'm just so upset and so down at the fact that I look like trash. I will never refeer this doctor to any one. He was refeered to me by my cousion and he did a good job on her and messed me up. I missed like four months from work due to all the pain and swellen. I'm so really upset. I'm not happy at all.

    37. I am 56 years old and I had breast reduction on January 30, 2012. It took me 4 years to get up the nerves to start the process. My insurance took a month to approve it and gave me a window of 3 months to have it done. My entire experience was wonderful! I totally believe that you have to research your Doctor. Mine came highly recommended and I asked a lot of questions and he always answered all my questions satisfactory. Never rushed my appointments before and after the procedure. My results were near perfection. Didn't experienced the pain I thought I would, was in at 7:00am and back home at 4:30 pm the same day. Minor draining and scaring. My breasts were a 44 DD, lost 8 lbs of tissue. I am only 5'2" 152 lbs before surgery. Both my breasts are even and my nipples are lined up even as well and I have sensation in both. I did have numbness on my left side at first but that is disappearing . Even my gynacologist commented that my plastic surgeon did a great job. I am a totally different person now was always walking slumped over trying to not bring attention to my breasts , receiving comments from complete strangers in passing. I can now wear cute tops and sun dresses .. I haven't had any problems since. As one reader mentioned her PS had all the credentials and still botched her surgery, I guess that I was fortunate and perhaps lucky. I wish all of the ladies could have had a positive experience and outcome. All we really wanted was a better quality of life devoid of pain
